Meet Erica!


Classically trained percussionist Erica Mariani received their Bachelors of Arts degree in music performance from Montclair State University. They have been playing percussion and drums for over twenty years, and have worked as a freelance musician for the past fourteen years. They have performed with numerous musical ensembles, including LUX Orchestra, Opera Italiana is in the Air, APEX Ensemble (formerly Montclair Orchestra), The New Jersey Gamer Symphony Orchestra, Monarch Brass, and the New York Percussion Ensemble.

Erica has worked for Aurora Music Academy for the past two years, teaching percussion/drums, guitar, piano, bass guitar, and ukulele. While in school, they studied piano and guitar alongside percussion, and through their dedication and passion for music, were primarily self taught on these instruments. Their teaching experience includes assistant drumline instructor for West Milford High School, front line ensemble instructor for Montville High School, and drumline instructor for Northern Highlands High School. They also spent several summers as Percussion Coordinator for the Windhaven session at Kinhaven Music Camp in Weston, Vermont.

Erica has found their true passion for teaching private lessons for young students at Aurora Music Academy. No matter the instrument, they take pride in and are dedicated to providing a foundational education for beginner musicians.
